I Put You in Charge, and You Take the Empress Dowager to a Brothel?

After transmigrating to the Tang Dynasty, Li Chengqian becomes its Crown Prince.

Knowing full well that his father, Li Shimin, is hailed as an emperor for the ages, and that challenging him head-on would mean certain death, Li Chengqian wisely decides to slack off and take the route of a troublemaker bent on driving his father up the wall!

When Li Er goes on a tour, he orders Li Chengqian to oversee the state.

Li Chengqian immediately takes his mother, Empress Zhangsun Wugu, to listen to music at the biggest brothel in Chang'an!

He pushes open a private room door and finds Li Shimin, in disguise, drinking with the entire court of civil and military officials.

Facing the stunned ministers, Li Chengqian puts on an innocent expression. “Mother, does Father have another family outside? Is he abandoning us?”

Li Shimin breaks down on the spot. “You little rebel! Fine, you went to a brothel, but you even brought your mother along?!”

Li Chengqian thought this outrageous stunt would finally get him deposed, but things suddenly took a turn.

Zhangsun Wuji: “The Crown Prince cut off the aristocratic clans at their very roots. We’re all finished!”

The Turkic khagan: “Who said the Crown Prince was a good-for-nothing? He wiped out my hundred thousand cavalry while chatting and laughing!”

Looking at the flourishing empire to which all nations paid tribute, Li Shimin was completely baffled. “That rebel is always courting death. How did the Tang Dynasty end up invincible?”
