The Emperor Begs Me to Take Him Back, but I’m Delivering My Enemy’s Baby

As she knelt and begged to be taken back into favor, he stood beside the birthing bed, a bloodstained pair of forceps in his hand. Shen Zhaoyi, the former imperial consort of the previous dynasty, deposed and confined to the Cold Palace for three years, is now the only “living bodhisattva” in the palace capable of delivering babies. She saves the consort's child from a difficult birth, yet secretly plants the seed of a slow-acting poison in the swaddling clothes. Emperor Xiao Yan kneels before her, begging her to return to the imperial carriage, unaware that she is using his child to pave the way for revenge against those who once destroyed her family. When Imperial Physician Chen brings her the late emperor's secret edict, Yun Niang reveals the truth, and even a barbarian prince offers to bathe the palace in blood for her, the revenge that began in the birthing chamber is only just getting started.
