This is a story about a "Recorder." Chen Mo arrives in the world of the Nine Provinces, a realm jointly protected by the "Great Xia Demon Suppression Bureau" and the "Celestial Masters' Mansion," carrying an ancient treasure from the Classic of Mountains and Seas. Everyone thinks he is merely a learned "war correspondent," a frail scholar in the rear compiling the Records of Strange Tales. Then one day, an ancient ferocious beast emerges. Immortals and Buddhas are powerless, but Chen Mo opens a blank page in the Classic of Mountains and Seas and says softly, "Behave. Get in the bowl."
