Chen Wen, a gold-medal lecturer in the public examination, transformed into a poor scholar in the Great Xia Dynasty. He started in a run-down college and had three problem students. He innovated teaching with the thinking of public examination, used logic to deconstruct stereotypes, and used essays to train students. He led his disciples to win the first place in the county, government, college, and rural examinations, and slapped top colleges and great Confucian scholars in the face. Chen Wen implemented a simplified tax system, ran a newspaper, and issued raw silk coupons, and overthrew the wealthy merchants in Jiangnan and the eunuch Wei Lin, the eunuch Bingbi. In the end, Chen Wen's disciples all became important officials in the imperial court, and he also became the well-deserved unmown emperor of Great Xia as a commoner.
