Substitute Bride in the 1970s: My Tough Husband's Face-Slapping Antics

“Huo Zheng, I’m taking my cousin’s place to marry you because I want a full meal at your house. I don’t mind that your legs are useless. I’ll support you from now on.” On their wedding night, country girl Lin Wan straddled his wheelchair. Her soft, boneless hands rested on the cold, unfeeling thigh of the military officer. Her eyes reddened slightly, her natural allure impossible to hide.

Huo Zheng’s Adam’s apple bobbed hard. A dark flame flickered to life in his lifeless eyes, and he clamped a hand around her slender waist. “Lin Wan, if you flirt with a cripple, you’ll have to face the consequences.”

She had thought they would merely share a home to make ends meet, but Lin Wan was surprised to discover that her disabled husband had an eight-pack and incredible stamina, and his family spoiled her rotten! Her greedy birth family comes looking for handouts? Her mother-in-law chases them off with a broom. People look down on a country girl? Her father-in-law, a high-ranking officer, slams the table and roars that she’s his own daughter! By day, she studies acupuncture under a stern old Chinese doctor. At night, she goes home to massage her tough husband’s legs and bathe him. As the tension between them grows, the cold-faced devil who was supposed to be disabled for life suddenly gets to his feet one day and pins her against the corner of the kang, his voice hoarse. “Wifey, my legs are better. Time to have a baby…”
