In 1894, an experimental accident sent naval equipment researcher Lin Shaoting back to the eve of the First Sino-Japanese War. He boarded the Zhiyuan as a trainee naval officer and experienced firsthand the smoke and tragedy of the Battle of the Yellow Sea.
