I Took an NPC Quest, So Why Am I Being Hounded by a Fox Spirit?

[A wooden-headed girl who only wants to complete her NPC tasks vs. a simple, crybaby little fox who just wants cuddles and hugs every day]

(1v1, mutual firsts, everyday-life focus)

(Content warning: The male lead is a crybaby who loves to act spoiled. The female lead has to visit multiple worlds for her missions.)

After Qi Rong bound herself to the NPC Mission System, she diligently traveled through the worlds of various novels, completing missions to earn points and accumulate more years of life.

This time, her mission world was an ancient farming novel.

The female lead had to go up the mountain to dig up ginseng, so Qi Rong went ahead and planted some in the mountains, and happened to rescue a little fox.

The female lead wanted to start a business selling braised pig offal, so Qi Rong set up a stall in town to sell pig offal, then returned the little fox to the mountains on her way back.

What? Selling pig offal has to be a husband-and-wife business?

To complete the mission smoothly, Qi Rong had no choice but to buy a young man to pretend to be her husband.

He was handsome and obedient, but a little too clingy. Not only did he say he wanted to take her surname, he also said things like he belonged to her, body and soul.

And the thing was, he cried easily and was always asking for hugs.

Come on, the System is watching from the sidelines.

Qi Rong was getting a headache. She had to leave after completing the mission, so why was the young man crying and following her?

Later, Qi Rong learned that the young man was the little fox she'd returned to the mountains all those years ago.

What could she do about that?

She could only spoil him, of course.
