The watchdog A Wang gained intelligence after sneaking an elixir, then swallowed a transformation pill and became a little girl. Her master Cang Ya promptly kicked her down the mountain.
Cang Ya warned her, “The human heart is like a mirror: polish it, and it will not tarnish. Go out and see the mortal world. When you understand what it means to be human and can keep your tail properly hidden, you may return.”
So A Wang set off into the mortal world with half a steamed bun and a supply of unstable magic, beginning her own “transformation story.”
