If You Can't Escape, Burn It All Down

The worst thing Lu Chen ever did was not getting close to Xie Liao, but truly falling in love with him that year.

He sent Xie Liao to prison, thinking it was a victory for justice. But the look Xie Liao gave him as he was taken away made Lu Chen realize he would never escape him for the rest of his life.

Seven years later, Lu Chen was pretending to live a peaceful life amid the chalk dust of a village school. Then Xie Liao appeared again, crossing mountains and rivers to find him. There was no hatred in his eyes, only something more terrifying than hate: an obsession that would never let go.

“You think you can change your name and hide in this godforsaken place, and I won’t find you?”

When drug traffickers broke in, Xie Liao and Lu Chen drew their guns at the same time. Only then did Xie Liao learn that this place was also the site of one of Lu Chen’s missions.

“Lu Chen, do you even have a heart?!”

This is a story of betrayal and redemption, destruction and rebirth. When the abyss echoes, you may think what you hear is hatred. In truth, it is love, only so deep and so wounded that it sounds like hate.
