Three Years of High School, One Kindred Spirit, and a Perfect Duo with Anyone

On the first day of school, Lin Zhiyu is chased by a cat into the girls’ bathroom, where he accidentally meets Su Xiaoman, the literature committee member who has a split personality. He later makes plenty of friends, including Zhou Mo, his deskmate who loves deadpan jokes and can’t speak; Zhao Tiezhu, the tall and burly sports ace; Qian Duoduo, a food-loving informant; and Shen Qingci, who plays a character skilled at performing in stage plays, among others.

Over the three years they spend together, Lin Zhiyu gradually becomes the center of the group. Whatever happens to anyone, he’s the first person they think of. He also discovers that no matter who he works with, they always achieve perfect coordination in some way, like a pair of twin stars.

Su Xiaoman: “Lin Zhiyu, I’ve thought of another new play: The Seven Little Red Riding Hoods and the Gray Wolf Princess.”

Zhou Mo: “Zhiyu, I’ve thought of another deadpan joke. Let me tell you.”

Zhao Tiezhu: “Zhiyu, let’s play ball. I’ll get the rebounds, you control the court. We’ll be unbeatable together.”

Qian Duoduo: “I’ve made a new dish: persimmons boiled with tomatoes. Come try it.”

Shen Qingci: “You’ve finished the first round of dietary therapy you prescribed. What about the next one?”

Lin Zhiyu: “No rush, no rush. Let’s take it one at a time.”
