I Married the Village Belle

In 1984, the hot-blooded young Ji Chuan, desperate to avoid a blind date, threw himself into the countryside to teach. There, he met Lin Xuemei, a "village heroine" who could chase him for miles with a hoe over her shoulder and save every animal in the village with a single bowl of herbal medicine. Amid all the chaos, the two pledged themselves to each other. Ji Chuan couldn't have been happier: This trip to the countryside was a total win!

On the very first day he brought his "heroine wife" back to the city, the story began careening wildly out of control.
