The Most Doted-On in Beijing: Miss Bunny Fiercely Protects Her Husband

Ye Xichi never thought there was anything wrong with the way she raised Lu Sui. Not until the day Lu Sui came out of the bathroom wearing her white shirt, her hair still wet, and nestled into her arms to ask, “Sister, do I smell like you?”

Her fingers tightened abruptly around the document. Her expression remained cool and composed, but her voice was slightly hoarse. “Go dry your hair.”

Ten years. Ever since she brought Lu Sui home, she had drawn clear boundaries for her: beneath her wings, within her sight, wherever she could reach.

She thought it was protection, control, an instinctive possessiveness toward what belonged to her. But the girl had since shed her childishness. Her smile was still bright and pure, yet somewhere along the way, every unconscious touch had become a precisely aimed soft blade, cutting through the restraint Ye Xichi had always been so proud of.

Lu Sui had grown used to clinging to her, curling up on the armrest of her office chair to share the trivial details of her day, twirling the long strands of Ye Xichi’s hair, and leaning close to whisper in her ear, completely unaware that she was taking the castle inch by inch.

One night, Ye Xichi finally came to her senses. The control she had claimed to have was already gone, turned against her completely.

“Lu Sui, I’m not your sister.” She pinned her against the floor-to-ceiling window, her radiant features shedding ten years of restraint, her gaze burning with startling intensity. “Think carefully. I never wanted to be your guardian.”

The person in her arms blushed, but didn’t pull away. Instead, she raised a hand to Ye Xichi’s shoulder and asked in a trembling, soft voice, “Then, Sister... what do you want?”

Ye Xichi lowered her head, her lips almost brushing the girl’s flushed ear, her breath scorching hot. “You.”
