War of Resistance: I Asked You to Fix Guns, So Why Are You Hand-Building Heavy Artillery?

After transmigrating as a student soldier in the New First Regiment, so timid he couldn’t get a word out, Lin Bei activates the Great Nation Technology System.

He plans to grab a gun and wipe out the Japanese, but the System tells him: “You get the complete blueprints. You’ll have to scavenge parts and build the machines yourself.”

The political commissar dotes on his men: “You’ve got seven days to make 300 grenades. If you can’t do it, get lost to the rear!”

The old blacksmith scoffs: “I’d lose money betting you could hammer out five in a day. What would a bookworm like you know?”

Lin Bei: “That’s it?”

He turns around, dismantles a Japanese motorcycle, melts down a broken plow from the supply depot, and smashes the mess hall’s cast-iron pot. A lever-operated stamping press rises from the ground, and his crude moisture-proof fuses astonish everyone! Two hundred a day? No, that’s the limit for people working the bellows, not for me!

When Li Yunlong storms in, cursing and demanding an explanation, he doesn’t find a pile of scrap metal. Instead, he comes face-to-face with a neat, standardized military production line!

Lin Bei wipes the machine oil from his hands. “Old Li, I’ve just finished the blueprints for the Italian cannon you wanted. Could you go find some scrap steel?”

A few years later, when the Eighth Route Army’s heavy main battle tanks crush through the Japanese forces’ North China defenses, the entire army is left dumbfounded?!
