Seeking Death, Questioning the Dao

Lin Feng was an ordinary office worker stuck in the 996 grind. After dying from overwork, he woke up to find that he had transmigrated to a world of immortal cultivation. Before he could even celebrate, a cold mechanical voice rang out in his mind:

“Ding! The Death-Seeking System has successfully bound itself to you. The more recklessly the Host courts death, the faster their cultivation improves. Current death-seeking points: 0.”

Lin Feng was dumbfounded. Other people cultivated immortality by meditating and comprehending the Dao. Was he supposed to do it by finding new ways to get himself killed? Jumping off cliffs, provoking powerful figures, trespassing into forbidden grounds, insulting sect leaders... Every suicidal stunt left him on the brink of death, but also sent his cultivation soaring.

At first, he only wanted to become stronger. He never expected that before long, he would turn the entire cultivation world upside down. The great sects put a bounty on his head, the demonic overlord hated him to the bone, and even the Heavenly Dao wanted to deal with him personally.

But the more things escalated, the more excited Lin Feng became.

“Hold on, everyone. I haven’t even started seriously courting death yet!”

Just as everyone thought he wouldn’t survive three chapters, Lin Feng was already standing at the pinnacle of the continent. He smiled faintly at the Heavenly Dao above the nine heavens.

“I hear you want to take me out? Funny, I was just thinking of doing something truly suicidal, like knocking you off your throne.”
