Great Ming: Starting from a Street Stall

Su Tang, sous-chef at a three-Michelin-star restaurant, wakes up to find herself an orphan girl who has fainted from hunger in a ruined temple during the Hongwu era of the Ming dynasty.

No money, no household registration, no food.

Luckily, Heaven has given her a "God of Food System," complete with the ability to identify ingredients, sense diners' needs, and exchange for seeds from other lands.

So she sets up a little shack by the main road at the village entrance and opens a roadside stall.

A bowl of wild vegetable soup delights the whole village of Taoyuan.

A roasted sweet potato wins over the fearsome village head.

A basket of wild vegetable wontons draws the city's powerful and wealthy to her door.

From a roadside stall to a little restaurant, from no customers to a place where every seat is taken.

Su Tang only wanted to be a happy cook and live a quiet life. Who knew that, before long, she would even attract the attention of the person in the imperial palace?

Zhu Yuanzhang makes an incognito visit. After finishing his meal, he wipes his mouth and says, "Young lady, your cooking... I, ahem, this old master is impressed!"

Courted by all sides, bullied by jealous rivals, and quietly protected by a certain stern-faced but warm-hearted village head...

Su Tang dusts the flour from her hands and smiles brightly:

"No rush. Get in line, one at a time. Today's numbers are all gone. Come early tomorrow."

Food, farming, and a lighthearted story.
