In the third year of Yong’an under the Great Chu, demons and monsters run rampant, bringing havoc to the mortal world.
As the world teeters on the brink of disaster, the Exorcist God descends to vanquish them.
But Chu Xuanchen, the God’s mortal incarnation, cannot awaken his memories because of a promise he made as a child.
With no other choice, the gods help him recover his memories on his wedding night.
Once his memories return, Chu Xuanchen abandons his bride on their wedding night and runs off to become a Daoist at Wangshan Temple.
From then on, Chu Xuanchen no longer exists in this world. There is only Daoist Guanxuan.
Guanxuan makes it his mission to protect peace in the world and exterminate demons and monsters.
And so, a Daoist sets out on the path of exorcism...
