After Retiring, I Became a Zoo Director

Retired soldier Shen Yao returns to the city, struggling to get by and all alone. One night, during a rainstorm, he discovers that he can understand animals, see through their eyes, and even replicate their abilities: a cat’s night vision, an eagle’s far-reaching sight, a cheetah’s explosive speed. This secret becomes his key to finding his way back to ordinary life.

When he rescues the besieged CEO Qin Zheng late one night, the gears of fate begin to turn. Qin Zheng built her business from the ground up without relying on her family, standing alone against attacks from business tycoons and the designs of underground forces. She needs someone she can trust to watch her back, while he needs a reason to fight again.

From an intelligence network made up of stray cats to a hawk-eyed defense line circling the skies, from relentless pressure by business rivals to the deadly threat of the transnational underworld syndicate Blood Shark, he uses the power of animals to build an invisible fortress around her.

Hacker K runs the information hub, her close friend Su Wan, a miracle-working doctor, guards their lifeline, and retired military dog Thunder charges into battle. When everyone asks what gives a retired soldier the right to protect a business queen, Shen Yao’s answer is simple:

“My army of thousands is invisible to the naked eye.”
