Synopsis

Lin Fan, 22, graduated with a degree in marketing.

Three months after graduation, he was two months behind on rent, and his only possession was an electric scooter on its last legs. Other people graduated with “boundless prospects”; he graduated with “no idea what lay ahead.” To make ends meet, he delivered food day and night. At five yuan a delivery, he could run himself ragged and still not make a dent in his bills.

Then, late one night, he delivered hangover soup to “No. 18, Yunshui Bay”...

The door was unlocked. A pair of white high heels sat in the entryway, and upstairs hung the body of a woman who had died by hanging.

From that night on, Lin Fan's life took a sharp turn:

The dead woman's father showed up and paid him fifty thousand yuan to be the “groom in a ghost marriage.” He had barely warmed the money in his hands when a broke-ghost System that “only handed out cash, never asked you to do any work, and could kill you at any moment” latched onto him. “You have one week to deal with the trouble haunting you.”

So Lin Fan went on delivering food through the city in his uniform by day, then slipped into abandoned hospitals and haunted villas in the dead of night to “bring warmth” to the dead.

His client list kept growing: a nurse who had died violently, a man-eating shadow fiend, the “resentment” worshipped in a small shrine deep in the forest...

He met Shen Meng, a kind-hearted female ghost, and Wang Ziyi, a beautiful descendant of the Wang family who knew how to catch ghosts. There was also Grandma Wang, who taught him to draw talismans every day, saying, “Learn if you want. I won't ask why.”

The System paid more and more, and the missions grew more dangerous. Gradually, Lin Fan realized that every case pointed to the same place...

By day he delivered food, by night he hunted ghosts. There was more and more money in his pocket, but the ghosts around him grew more and more dangerous.

Lin Fan scratched his head. “Am I spending this life delivering food, or delivering myself to my death?”

Horror Novels, the Scarier the Better! The Kind That Keep You Too Afraid to Sleep After Reading at Midnight

There should be a male protagonist and no female lead. The male lead should be handsome but cruel, fearless on the outside and in his personality, and, most importantly, strong and cruel. Extremely cruel!
