The protagonist, Lin Mo, was originally an ordinary college student on Earth. He has a calm and reserved personality but has a stubbornness in his heart that refuses to admit defeat. After traveling to the Shadow Continent, he possessed the body of a good-for-nothing boy who was abandoned by his family. He was bullied because he was born unable to sense the power of elements. On the surface, he appears to be happy-go-lucky, but in his heart he is full of desire for power and rebellion against fate. The growth arc has evolved from the initial forbearance to survive, to the overlord who controls the summoning of darkness. He has honed his cold and decisive leadership temperament in life and death battles, and finally grew from an ant being stepped on to a dark master who makes the gods tremble.
