The Top-Tier Star Is My Ex, but I Train Him Like a Dog

The thing Shen Luxi regretted most in her life was casually rescuing a pitiful kid who was being bullied when she was eighteen. What she regretted even more was that the kid grew up to become Lu Huaizhou, a top-tier star and award-winning actor, and then refused to leave her alone.

She took a job as his assistant to pay off her debt, and on her very first day, she was dragged across the trending charts: “Someone that ugly thinks she belongs by Huaizhou’s side?” No one knew that the aloof, distant Lu Huaizhou from the cameras knocked on her door every night, dropping to his knees with red-rimmed eyes. “Sis, the three years you were gone were miserable. Not a single day was okay.”

During the day, she handed him coffee and he nodded coolly. At night, he clung to her coat and refused to let go, like a dog. His agent was on the verge of a breakdown, his fans were swooning over their ship, and her ex-boyfriends were lining up to get written out.

But Shen Luxi had just one question: “I’ve been training this dog for three years. Why is he getting clingier by the day?”

Worse still, as the whole internet watched her in her role as his “keeper,” a hidden thread from ten years ago began to surface: the former company that had once framed her, a mysterious figure who had slipped into the film set, and the people who kept following her from a distance… Someone was weaving a net in the shadows, and the two of them stood right at its center.

But he only crouched by her feet and asked, looking up at her, “Sis, have you ever crouched down to wait for someone?”

She looked down at him. “I waited for you.”

He smiled. “Then this time, I’ll wait for you.”
