[Slow Burn] [Western Fantasy] [Cthulhu]

Cao Lan twitched his nose...

Ah... A fresh medicinal scent filled the room, followed by the rich sweetness of fruit, then a slightly bitter, woody aroma...

"I feel so dizzy..."

Cao Lan's head felt as if someone had hit him with a stick. Clutching it, he struggled to sit up in bed.

The next second,

a cold, round object pressed against his forehead. His mind was still a blur, but the moment he recognized its shape, he was jolted wide awake:

a gun!

Well, to be precise, a handgun?

No! This probably wasn't the time to worry about that.

In his entire life, Cao Lan had only ever seen real guns in short videos, through an LCD screen. Now it felt as though a sledgehammer had struck him. His mind had barely cleared, and now he was completely stunned.
