On the day the Journey to the West ended, the Buddha was enthroned at Spirit Mountain, and all three realms celebrated.
Only the underworld brought back a corpse.

The scriptures are fake. Monkey, wake up.
The protagonist, Lu Chen, transmigrates into the body of a junior underworld judge, inherits the lost Seal of the Dark Heaven, and unlocks the Ledger of Crimes of the Three Realms. Starting with the case of the White Bone Spirit, he discovers that the Eighty-One Tribulations were not a path to merit, but an incense scam spanning all three realms.
So he reopens the underworld, puts gods and Buddhas on trial, and helps Sun Wukong reclaim the emotions and desires that were stripped from him.
In the end, the three realms owe the Monkey an apology, and all living beings are owed a public trial.
