Homelander has awakened.
He can see dialogue boxes, reader comments, and even his own “popularity score.”
He discovers that he is merely a character whose story has already been written. His loneliness, his obsession, his fate: it's all part of the script.
Anyone else might break down, but he's Homelander.
He starts talking to the fourth wall:
“Want to see me dominate? Vote for recommendations.”
“Want to see me suffer? Vote with your monthly tickets.”
“Want to see me take down the author? Then get my popularity score past ten million.”
When the author realizes they can no longer control the protagonist, this comic-book world is about to change forever.
