A young woman from a modern high school, left behind by her parents, wakes up in the body of a girl in ancient times. Unwilling to be confined to the inner quarters and waste her life away, A Yuan stands her ground against everyone’s objections and persuades her family to let her travel with her younger brother, Xu Chengyu, to study at Songshan Academy. In an academy filled with boys and ruled by strict traditions, she breaks through the barriers of gender, pushes herself relentlessly, and studies without pause as she faces criticism and challenges. Inspired by his sister, her younger brother also grows and transforms. Together with their classmates, they search for a way forward through the classics and written works, stand firm against the prejudices of their time, and forge a different path through the world of ancient learning.
