Lighthearted / Humorous / No female lead
The author’s been on a Warhammer kick lately, so they’ve decided to write something unhinged.
Li Ang, a history PhD from C University, spent six years developing an AI transmigration machine. His wish was simple: travel to ancient times and see how an emperor with centralized power governed the world.
His AI assistant, Baodou, interpreted the keyword “emperor” with perfect precision and sent him to Warhammer 40K’s Golden Throne, right into the mind of the Emperor of Mankind.
The good news: there’s an emperor here. The bad news: this emperor has been sitting on the throne for ten thousand years, using his soul to hold back the entire Warp’s whispers of Chaos.
The even better news: the background noise of Li Ang’s thoughts can counter the interference of Chaos. After a long silence, the Emperor decides to keep this mental white-noise machine around.
The most outrageous news: the Emperor senses a warm, motherly consciousness in the Warp. Her first words are, “Wake up, my child.”
Li Ang’s hair stands on end. “Mommy Lotus?!”
And so the Imperium of Man’s most powerful Psyker and the Void Mother, the most fiercely protective parent in the Warframe universe, begin a cross-universe chat, with a wage-slave translator who has transmigrated as a pop-up of pure consciousness acting as their go-between. The Emperor learns from Mommy Lotus to care for Space Marines, terrifying a Chapter Master so much that he writes his will overnight. Li Ang summons Warframes to hack apart Chaos, earning the title “Iron Bodhisattva” from the Astra Militarum and suspicion of heresy from the Inquisition.
As for what the Emperor and Mommy Lotus talked about for three hours in their private, encrypted psychic channel, Li Ang still has no idea. He only remembers the Emperor saying one thing:
“Your throne is a toilet, you say? I’ve been keeping that in mind for ten thousand years.”
Woooooooo! It's rare to see a book about fertilization after such a long time.
A more serious Hammer article, I like to retain the humanity of the emperor. Come on, wife of the author!
