The Irresistible Little Nanny of the ’80s Has Her Rough Army Officer Husband Spoiling Her Night After Night

[1980s + nanny + rugged military officer + sweet romance]

In 1985, Su Niannian is sold by her cruel adoptive parents to become a child bride in the mountains. She escapes in the middle of the night, then collapses at the entrance to a military housing compound.

When she wakes up, she somehow ends up as the nanny for the most fearsome, cold, and unapproachable man in the entire compound: Deputy Regiment Commander Li Beichen.

She also has to look after the four-year-old little handful left behind by one of his fallen comrades.

This rugged military officer...

Hardly ever speaks or smiles, and his gaze could kill.

He has two words written all over him: Don't mess with me.

On her first day at work, Su Niannian steps on five land mines.

She makes the food too delicious: “Use less salt next time.”

She cleans the house too thoroughly: “Don't touch my things.”

She gives the little tyke pretty braids: “...Too fancy.”

Su Niannian: “???”

Later, she discovers that this stone-faced officer...

When she forgets to lock the bathroom door while showering, he storms out with red ears and doesn't dare look her in the eye for three days.

When a nightmare makes her cry in the middle of the night, he awkwardly pats her back, keeping it up all night long.

When someone bullies her, he goes straight to their door.

Before long, everyone in the compound knows:

If anyone lays a finger on Deputy Commander Li's little nanny, they'll be shipped off to raise pigs.

One late night, Su Niannian is cornered in the kitchen.

The man, standing six-foot-two, traps her in the narrow space, his voice low and hoarse. “Su Niannian, you can quit being a nanny.”

“Become a military wife instead.”
