A Hasty Marriage, a Deep Trap: President Li, Your Wife Has Run Off Again

Twenty-one-year-old new employee Wen Qian unexpectedly got a marriage license with twenty-nine-year-old company owner Li Jingchen. Their sham marriage, as they saw it, sparked one farce after another as their two families became entangled in a mess of relationships.

Wen Qian was born to Wen Kexin, who had her before marriage, and grew up with her grandmother, a divorcée raising a child on her own. She also has an uncle, Wen Boyan. To her surprise, Wen Kexin had secretly married Li Jingchen's older brother, Li Jingnian, and they even had a child together. Li Jingnian is a professor devoted to research, oblivious to everything happening outside his work.

The traditional Li family cannot accept a mother and daughter becoming sisters-in-law, so Li Jingchen and Wen Qian have to keep their relationship secret. To make matters more complicated, Wen Qian's biological father, Su Nancheng, doesn't even know she exists and is trying to arrange for his daughter, Su Yining, to marry Li Jingchen.

After divorcing Wen Qian's grandmother, her maternal grandfather married into the wealthy Sheng family. His daughter, Sheng Xia, is also taken with Li Jingchen and constantly gives Wen Qian a hard time, even digging up a fatal case from years ago.

These tangled relationships make Wen Qian deeply resent this marriage in name only. But as Li Jingchen spends more time with her, he gradually falls for her, and their romance becomes a game of her running away and him chasing after her, of her retreating and him advancing.
