I think a qualified novel must at least write down the complete growth experience of the protagonist. Of course, the completeness here does not necessarily have to start from birth, but at least a complete growth experience must be written out, so that people can read Readers understand the characters you write, so I suggest you start with fan fiction, don't write so many original characters, try to write one character well first, and then write more original characters.
