One ordinary evening, Wen Qiao impulsively bought a ticket to Suzhou.
She didn’t give it much thought. She simply realized she hadn’t gone out to do something she loved in a long time.
Later, she traveled from Suzhou and Hangzhou to Changsha, from Dalian to Hokkaido, then from Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka to Fukuoka.
In Hokkaido, she adopted a cat named Fan Tuan.
Along the way, there was rain, spicy noodles, sea breezes, snow, old temples, food stalls, a cat carrier, and many warm meals.
This wasn’t some dramatic new beginning.
She simply began to realize, little by little, that life could be this easygoing.
