Xu Jianwei, a cultural relic restorer, was involved in the court of the early Qing Dynasty because of a gold volume of unknown origin, and became Xiaozhuang in the Cining Palace. She originally thought she was just borrowing an identity, but in the storm before Obai fell and Xuan Ye had not grown up, she lived step by step into the past that could not be written into official history: the attachment and growth of the young emperor, the clear restraint and letting go of the keeper, and the blank thoughts of a historical figure in his later years that had never been revealed.
At the same time, the modern world began to quietly forget her - her name was thinned, past events were rewritten, and even "Xu Jianwei" itself almost disappeared. She can only trace back and forth between the past and the present: tracing an old disaster when she was seven years old, tracing a page of incomplete old records, and asking herself whether she is living for others or whether she can still live for herself.
"Borrowing Fate from the Golden Book" is not about simple time travel, but how a person returns to his name after being borrowed by fate: taking the wind of Cining Palace, the memory and loss of old friends, he returns to this life and chooses to be Xu Jianwei.
