They are constantly assigned top-secret missions to eliminate ghosts, and, with no other choice, entrusted young Su Xin to the Lin family next door. Having grown up in his previous life with divorced parents and no one to rely on, Su Xin treasures this hard-won warmth more than anything. He quietly resolves that one day he will find his missing biological parents and protect everyone he cares about.
Over the next decade or so, Su Xin grows up safely with the Lin family, studying and spending every day alongside Lin Wanqing, the girl next door. Time flies, and when they both turn fifteen, they enter Menghua Academy, a renowned institution for cultivating supernatural abilities in the south of the Huaxia Continent. There, they begin their journey of awakening and cultivating ghostly energy.
