[Goofy Cultivation] + [Light Ensemble Cast] + [No Romance] + [Laid-Back Everyday Life] + [Slow Burn] + [Supernatural]
A slice-of-life story with no melodrama, tragic romance, harem, or scares.
The Heavenly Realm has recently launched a project using spirit boards to help mortals with spiritual aptitude cultivate.
Each board is inhabited by an immortal, allowing mortals to communicate with them.
Lord Mingjing, an inspector of the Heavenly Realm, has been working so much overtime and is under so much pressure that he feels his immortal life is hopeless. In a fit of rage, he lets out the cry of every overworked wage slave:
“I’m never being an immortal again!”
Then he seals his own powers, jumps down from the heavens, and becomes Tan Xinyue, an ordinary little fortune-teller.
“Aaaaaah!!! Help!”
Tan Xinyue sprints for her life, chased by a horde of shadows. At their head, an ancient general swings his sword and attacks like a man possessed, but he can’t get past her defenses, no matter what he tries. His eyes redden with fury.
“Are you sure these are spirit pets, and not dung beetles?” Tan Xinyue digs two bugs out of the dung, or rather, the yellow mud.
The Dragon King of the South Sea laughs uproariously in the Heavenly Realm:
[That’s right, that’s right!]
“My daughter may be little, but she’s got plenty of strength. She can eat eight bowls of rice in one sitting!” Tan’s father boasts, patting his big belly.
Aaaaaah!
Old man, you haven’t even had a drink. Why are you already talking nonsense?
“I think I might have cultivated into a fake immortal!”
“Hahaha! I’m losing my mind!!!”
