At the end of the Dayu Dynasty, phenomena such as "ancient evil spirits borrowing corpses, mountain ghosts eating cities, and evil soldiers crossing the border" frequently appeared in prefectures and counties all over the world. On the surface, they were caused by the rampant evil spirits in troubled times, but in fact they were related to the reappearance of the "Nine Pictures of Suppressing Evil Spirits" left over from ancient times. Legend has it that after the collapse of the prehistoric era, many evil spirits, alien species, and remnants of ancient gods were sealed into the mountains and rivers. Once the seals were loosened, dynasties, sects, and people in the world would be involved in disaster. The protagonist is originally a Taoist ghost hunter who travels around the state capital. He is good at talismans, formations, autopsies, examinations, and knife fights. Due to a mysterious case in Yizhuang, he accidentally obtained one of the nine pictures, and was forced to step into the battle between the court, the immortal sect, and the ancient evil lineage. The whole story revolves around "Can the human city suppress the lingering evil spirits of the prehistoric times?" It escalates from a small misfortune in the county town to a world catastrophe when the mountains and rivers are lost.
