Taming the Eerie with Ancient Texts: I Restore the World’s Age-Old Regrets

An eternal game of chess, with the heavens as the board and all living beings as pieces.

Scattered fragments of ancient books record not only strange tales and secret accounts, but also truths buried by the heavens and the regrets of countless lives.

Shen Yan obtains the True Brush of Returning to the Origin, inherits the Grand Historian’s legacy, fuses the origins of the two poles, and is chosen by the heavens as the new player of the game.

He could have commanded life and death and ascended to the summit, but in the ancient books he glimpses the eternal tragedies of his ancestors sacrificing themselves for the Dao, loyal souls suffering injustice, and all living beings manipulated like pieces on a board.

“I won’t be a piece in the heavens’ game. I’ll suppress the uncanny with my brush, defy the game through humanity, and mend every regret in this world!”

His words defy the game, enraging the heavens. Countless Realm-Patrolling Envoys cross worlds to hunt him down, stopping at nothing until he is dead.

A chess-player realm battles a realm-patrolling realm. Brush and ink shatter the chess formation; the human way breaks all laws.

Watch as Shen Yan joins forces with the Ancestors of the Two Poles to unravel the secrets of ancient books, suppress an eternal uncanny game, overturn the heavens’ chessboard, restore freedom to the world, and mend the regrets of all living beings!
