You Asked Me to Stargaze, So Why Am I Building a Laser Cannon?

You call this a telescope? What kind of telescope can punch through steel plates?!

Urban Life + Black Technology + System

Lin Fan graduated and took the civil service exam, only to be assigned to a remote border observatory in the middle of nowhere.

He thought he’d spend his days wasting away in the mountains and forests, but then he unexpectedly awakened the “Heavenly Eye Military System”!

The equipment is too old to observe anything? He’ll build his own!

Celestial trajectories are too hard to track? He’ll bring out the black technology!

Then one day, a heavily armed band of foreign mercenaries sneaked across the border, intent on killing him to cover their tracks.

With no other choice, Lin Fan activated the “astronomical observation equipment” he had just built.

That night, the military stared in silence at the scorched ground and the wreckage of equipment bearing the words “Border Observatory.”

Military bigwig: “High-energy laser cannons, satellite trackers… You call this an astronomical telescope?!”

Lin Fan looked utterly innocent. “It’s a high-power laser rangefinder for calculating asteroid orbits. Makes perfect sense, right?”

Military bigwig: “Then what’s that machine gun mounted on top for?!”

Lin Fan: “There are lots of birds along the border. It’s for keeping them away. Nothing wrong with that, right?”

Faced with military-industrial black technology half a generation ahead of the rest of the world, the provincial military commander and the leading expert at the aerospace institute went completely wild. They drove over in an armored vehicle in the middle of the night to snatch him up!

Lin Fan: I’m just a civil service exam graduate who loves life. I’m really not some arms dealer! (More cozy urban slice-of-life chapters coming soon.)
