Hong Kong Films: Big Sis, Stop Testing Me. I'm Really a Good Guy

[Decisive and ruthless + clever protagonist + satisfying power fantasy + multiple women + invincible + behind-the-scenes mastermind] Ye Tian transmigrates into the world of Hong Kong crime films and becomes the most outrageous gangster in the Hong Hing Society. While others extort protection money, he takes his crew to do charity work at orphanages. While others fight over turf, he brings warmth to lonely seniors. After binding himself to the “Good Deeds System,” he discovers that as long as he remains in a gang and keeps doing good, he can earn martial arts techniques, money, and divine subordinates with maxed-out loyalty. And so the underworld gains a new figure: the “Righteous and Benevolent Ye, the Great Philanthropist,” who breaks his rivals’ fingers and forces them to fill out donation forms. When the East Star Society sets its sights on the orphanage he considers his home turf, and his sworn brother Ba Bi is hacked to death, leaving a twenty-million debt unpaid, Ye Tian finally bares his fangs. In secret, he lines up three trump cards: Gao Jin, the warden from SPL; the Archangel Li Fu, from The King of Killers; and martial arts fanatic Feng Yuxiu. Then he wipes away every trace in a fire that destroys an entire household. At the Hong Hing gathering, Kwun insists on promoting Ye Tian to Red Pole and setting him against Chan Ho-nam of Causeway Bay. But Ye Tian is plotting to swallow the entire society and get all fifty thousand gangsters on Hong Kong Island to “lay down their butcher knives and build good karma.” In the turbulent 1980s of Hong Kong, this smiling Asura carries a charity banner in his left hand and a head start on the Hong Kong stock market in his right. Starting with an orphanage, he plans to carve out an ironclad kingdom of his own.
