In the second year of Jianzhong of the Tang Dynasty, the Anxi Protectorate of the Western Regions had been cut off by Tubo for fifteen years. Guo Xin has grown from a young and strong general to an old soldier. The copper materials used to cast the "Jianzhong of the Tang Dynasty" coins in his hands came from the demolished Buddha statues and weapons. While dealing with Tubo and Geluolu, he sent dozens of teams back east to seek help. In the end, only one person arrived in Chang'an. When the reinforcements did arrive, they brought not food and grass, but an edict asking him to abandon Anxi and withdraw to the pass. This work is based on the real historical figure Guo Xin, telling the story of how a lone army used flesh and blood to create the legend of "never fall" in the torrent of the great era.
