Three days after the winter solstice in 1961, Chlorophytum Village in western Hunan. A baby boy was born on a snowy night with a natural crack on his forehead. Grandpa dotted it with Dao Guangnian's gold powder: "Fill the cracks with gold."
His name is Yanzhou.
At the age of five, he was waiting for his father to return from the hydrological station. His father gave him a white stone and said "I don't know" how long it will take for him to come back.
When he was seven years old, his father was forced to kneel down on the bluestone slab, and the white bird flew towards the moon. One went for seven years.
Yanzhou learned to read and wait from the stones on his mother's threshold, and learned weight from the scale beam handed over by his sister. Chen Mingyuan said, "Take the exam at Peking University." Her mother was stunned for a while: "Then I need to bring more clothes."
In 1978, the admission notice arrived. My father came back from Zaoguowan. His hair was white and his waist was straight.
Yanzhou took the last stone given by his mother and got on the train. The Chlorophytum Village outside the window is getting smaller and smaller.
More than eighty years later, 100-year-old Yanzhou returned to his hometown wearing a memory suit. Grandpa's words are still there - "Living with a crack is stronger than never having a crack."
