"Predicting Death" meets the "dramatic aesthetics" of the Liyuan Theater of the Republic of China. The protagonist Jiang Yuebai's ability is to "use dreams as a guide". She cannot choose the object of prediction on her own. She can only passively see the murder that happened three days later in her dream. The dream is a highly abstract fragment with strong elements of drama (a recited word, an action of flicking a sleeve, the light in which corner goes out). She must decipher these abstract clues in reality to find the real murderer and protect the victims. This process also forced her to repeatedly approach Shen Yanqing, a theater owner who was inextricably linked to the deceased and possessed unparalleled "martial arts" skills. Is it fateful love or intentional misdirection?
