The Breach Beneath the Fallen City

Synopsis

Abandoned as a child, Ji Xingchen was taken in by a kind elderly couple at an orphanage. There he met Yang Zhiyan, whose background was much like his own. The two lonely souls relied on each other and made a promise: they would both get into a top high school and build a stable life together.

On the day the high school entrance exams ended, a massive explosion rocked the orphanage, and flames devoured everything. The elderly couple died, and Yang Zhiyan vanished without a trace. Weeping before the shattered ruins, I swore to uncover the truth behind the tragedy.

I appealed to every authority and gathered evidence, only to stumble upon a dirty deal between local power brokers and the underworld. With the interests of every faction tangled together, not only did I have no way to seek justice, I was also subjected to brutal retaliation.

By the time two acceptance letters from top high schools arrived, all my hopes from the past had vanished. I cruelly burned the letters and turned to Tiancheng No. 7 Vocational School, a place in total chaos. There, I tempered my strength in the mire and began the long road to revenge and finding Yang Zhiyan.

When the turmoil had finally settled, I chose to live in seclusion and returned to my hometown, Luocheng. Looking down at the scene before me and back along a road soaked in blood and tears, where I had lost countless beloved family members and friends, I was overwhelmed with emotion.
