The book has a total of tens of millions of words and is based on the seven lost ancient medical classics - "Huangdi Internal and External Classics" and "Bian Que Nei Jing" - "Hanshu·Yiwenzhi". The "Wai Jing", "Bai's Internal and External Canon" and "Off Chapters" integrate lost ancient books at home and abroad, unearthed bamboo slips, materia medica from past dynasties, and foreign medical books from Japan and South Korea. They systematically collect scattered scriptures and examine the origins of the three major medical schools of Huang, Que and Bai in the pre-Qin period. Editors Su Yanqiu and Chen Jingheng have sorted out the literature over time.
