Global Survival: I Can See Disaster Alerts in Advance

Humanity is transported overnight to an endless frozen wasteland. Everyone starts with only a drafty wooden cabin, a thin padded coat, a stone axe, and three pieces of black bread.

The temperature is minus twenty degrees during the day and minus fifty at night. Snow wolves prowl outside the cabins, strange bugs lurk beneath the ice, and blizzards, cold snaps, ice fog, and beast hordes can strike without warning.

Chen Ye's start is worse than everyone else's.

At least other people have an intact stove and three pieces of black bread. His stove is cracked, the chimney is blocked, and the gaps in his cabin walls are wide enough for half a hand to fit through. He also has half as much food. Worse still, an old injury in his right leg flares up in the extreme cold, leaving him slower at chopping wood than everyone else on day one.

In the chat channel, some people draw thick quilts, others find iron pots, and some mock Chen Ye, saying no one with such a ramshackle cabin will survive the night.

But when the System announces only the day's survival rules, a calendar of disasters for the next seven days suddenly appears before Chen Ye's eyes. Only he can see it.

[Day One: The temperature drops to minus sixty at night. Extreme cold strikes suddenly. High danger.]

[Day Two: Snow wolves test the cabin. Moderate danger.]

[Day Three: Ice bugs contaminate exposed food. Moderate danger.]

[Day Seven: A regional cold snap. Wooden cabins of the lowest level face an extremely high elimination rate. Critical danger.]

While everyone else is still scrambling to chop wood, trade for weapons, and show off their meat, Chen Ye has already torn up his bed boards to plug the wall gaps, repaired his stove, stockpiled charcoal, sealed his food, and dug traps.

On the third day, when other people's food spoils and they cry for help with stomachaches, he trades his clean provisions for blueprints and medicine.

On the seventh day, the cold snap wipes out countless cabins, but the temperature in his shelter stays steady.

Only when everyone finally realizes that simply reacting to disasters as they come won't keep them alive
