The Uncrowned Edict

Edmund, the last of the dragonkin, watched as God reduced his homeland to ashes with a single blaze.

He didn't cry out or pray. He didn't even frown. He simply carved the words “Destroyer” into his scales, then turned and vanished into the crowd.

He was taciturn, expressionless, and easy to overlook. Everyone who knew him thought he was a man of few words.

Only God knew that beneath his quiet exterior, he was prouder than anyone. He couldn't be bothered to bow to God, because in his eyes, God was just another obnoxious creature who had lived a little longer.

To get revenge, he needed a team.

So this silent dragonkin gathered the six remaining human oddballs among the “Seven Sins”:

Wrath: an arena champion who unleashes his ultimate move at the slightest provocation.

Envy: an aristocrat who makes snide remarks whenever she sees someone prettier than herself.

Sloth: a shut-in who'd rather lie down than sit.

Greed: a merchant who begrudges even a single coin.

Gluttony: a little person who never gets full, no matter how much he eats.

Lust: a social menace who'll hit on even a gargoyle.

The Seven Sins assembled and set off in grand fashion for the divine realm.

At first, the gods scoffed at them. That is, until they discovered that this dragonkin, who never wasted words, made his teammates want to beat him every time he spoke, and left angels questioning their entire existence every time he fought.

(The day I wrote this blurb, I drank three milk teas and got carried away. What I wrote has practically nothing to do with the actual story. Readers: How could you do this to us? Give us our money back!!!!!)
