[Love after marriage + a family of three transmigrates across time]
[No heavy-handed Northeastern stereotypes, so don’t expect them]
The original owner had been married to Huo Jin for a year. They had separate rooms and ate separate meals.
I thought he’d picked me because I was easy: quiet, undemanding, and cheap to keep.
That was until I started acting like a completely different person: putting relatives in their place, starting a company, and fighting online flame wars seven times over.
He didn’t stop me. He even handed me a lawyer’s letter. “Say whatever you want. I’ll take care of it.”
I spent so much that his credit card notifications flooded his phone. When his secretary called to check, he said, “Don’t worry about it. She’s learning how to spend money.”
I asked him, “Aren’t you afraid I’ll run your company into the ground?”
He kept answering emails without looking up. “If it goes under, I’ll make the money back. Keep spending.”
Later, someone asked me, “How did you win Huo Jin over?”
I thought about it. “Maybe... because I never wanted to win him over in the first place?”
