When a business queen at the peak of her game and a reborn actor unexpectedly “collide,” two top players are forced to perform a ridiculous “rookies fighting rookies” comedy in a clichéd script. Together, however, they rewrite the world into a feel-good power fantasy.
Shen Yun, a business legend, unexpectedly finds herself reborn as a B-list actress. She plans to stay out of trouble, make a few investments, and retire early. On her first day on set, she runs into Jiang Che, a future award-winning actor who will reach the top, but is currently being flamed across the internet for “acting like a diva.”
Little scene:
Shen Yun (thinking): Isn’t that Jiang Che? In a few years, he’ll be the godfather of showbiz. I’d better get on his good side.
Jiang Che (thinking): Isn’t that Shen Yun? Judging by that look, could she also be…? Better test the waters.
Shen Yun (offering him water, looking sweet): “Mr. Jiang, please have some water.”
Jiang Che (taking it, coolly): “Mm. Thanks.”
Their eyes met. Sparks flew, and the air filled with the feeling of “I recognize that look: you’re reborn too.”
“Long admired.”
“The pleasure is mine.”
And so, the two reborn people began a hilarious life of “singing each other’s praises” in public and competing in private over who was the true owner of the script.
