Qifan: After Three Years in Hiding, Everyone Thinks I’m Useless

I once swept away the demonic blight plaguing the Five Continents with a single sword and brought an end to an age of chaos.

After my work was done, I abandoned my sword and concealed my name, retreating to Qingshi Town. There, I tended a shabby but peaceful apothecary, making a living as an ordinary doctor.

For three years in seclusion, I treated everyone with quiet warmth and never flaunted my skills. The townsfolk and passing merchants all looked down on me, mocking and slighting me at every turn. Everyone thought I was useless and inept.

Then, in late autumn, fishing merchants from the coast, herders from the Gobi, hunters from the western frontier, herb gatherers from the southern borderlands, and even the former sect leaders traveled thousands of miles to gather in town and bow in gratitude along its streets.

Only then did the townsfolk realize, in shock, that the ordinary man in plain clothes they had scorned every day had once single-handedly brought peace to the four seas and all the lands.
