I Just Fix Air Conditioners, So How Did I Become a Scumbag?

Wu Shidao’s main job is repairing air conditioners and clearing drains. He also picks up the occasional gaming-boosting gig.

One day, he gets a call from a woman.

“Hey, my air conditioner’s broken, and the drain is clogged too. Could you take care of both?”

He slings his toolbox over his shoulder and heads over. Once the work is done, the lady says, “You’ve worked hard, little bro. Want to play a game? My Yao is really good.”

Wu Shidao replies, “What a coincidence. My Hou Yi is rock solid.”

After one match, she says, “Little bro, I think the air conditioner’s broken again, and the bathroom drain seems clogged too. Could you check them out?”

Wu Shidao points at the air conditioner. “Sis, this thing was cooling just fine five minutes ago.”

She blinks. “Now it overheats whenever it sees you.”

Wu Shidao says, “All right, I’ll give it a full service. I guarantee it’ll be fixed.”

That’s Wu Shidao’s everyday life.

He repairs the wildest air conditioners, clears the most clogged drains, and serves the most enthusiastic ladies.

Only later does Wu Shidao realize he isn’t fixing air conditioners, but lowering their emotional defenses. He isn’t clearing drains, but opening a path to a tycoon’s life.
