A single script traps all living beings, and Xiao Yibai is born out of thin air into a world of actors. The gates to the plays are always open, and the tasks beyond them are matters of life and death. Yet the audience behind the scenes has never shown itself. In the darkness, an invisible pen keeps writing. The actors' suffering and deaths are merely dramatic entertainment penned by the audience. Trapped in a plot that can be rewritten at will, Xiao Yibai traverses play gate after play gate, searching for the true identity of the nonexistent audience and a way to break free.
