After dying, Lin Mo, a former Wall Street trader, awoke to find he had transmigrated to an apocalypse being eroded by the “uncanny.” There were no zombies or mutated beasts here, only all kinds of uncanny beings: screaming curtains, sneezing ghosts, and tentacles that devoured nightmares. The protagonist acquired the “Uncanny God Appraisal Art,” which let him see the acquisition floor price and resale estimate of every uncanny being. What looked like junk to everyone else was a gold mine to him. But the price was his “Humanity Value.” Every deal consumed some of his humanity, and once it ran out, he would become an uncanny being himself. He had to walk a tightrope between making money and remaining human.
Starting from a shelter, Lin Mo assembled an eccentric team: Su Xiaoyu, a PhD in psychology; Old Xu, a shrewd ghost bookkeeper; and Zhang Shun, a loyal enforcer. He shorted the bonds of Hope Fortress, monopolized the grain trade across three regions, and built a city of his own: the Uncanny Domain.
