I Build Mecha in Republican-Era China and Terrify the Great Powers

After transmigrating to a parallel timeline in the Republic of China era, he became the county magistrate of a remote mountain town from the start.

He thought he would have to struggle to survive between the various warlords, but unexpectedly, he bound himself to the Mecha Warfare System and drew the all-purpose AI butler “BT-7274” from the start.

Want to farm and build an army? No problem!

But as he looked at the System interface, Shana fell into deep thought:

[Warning: Producing “tracked tanks/traditional artillery” increases manufacturing costs by 300% and failure rates by 90%!]

[Notice: Producing “bipedal/flying mechs” reduces production costs by 40%, increases reliability by 30%, and sends output soaring!]

Shana spread his hands. “It’s not that I’m showing off. Tanks are just too expensive to build, so I have no choice but to mass-produce mechs!”

And so, the style of warfare in this world went completely off the rails...

When warlords arrived with foreign guns and cannons to surround the town, the gates swung open, and five “Diesel Storm Mechs,” belching thick black smoke and armed with Maxim machine guns, crushed the enemy’s positions beneath their feet.

When the foreign powers overseas invaded in their proudly touted armored cars, they ran straight into advanced mechs.

While the whole world was struggling to develop propeller planes, the protagonist had already parked a supersonic flying mech on the roof of the Empire State Building.

Years later, when several superpowers sought to divide up global supremacy, they could only watch in despair as a gigantic “Gundam” rose from the Pacific Ocean...

“Weren’t you supposed to be a backward little warlord? You call this industrial junk?!”
